Cut Away
I cut away the reading, fantasy is not life.
I cut away the riding, peddling is not life.
I cut away the music, feeling is not life.
I cut away the movies, escaping is not life.
I cut away the people, following is not life.
But I can't cut away the thinking I should have done something more.

But I can't cut away the thinking I should have done something more.
Bacterium Humanus
"Ting! Ting!", the bell sang and they moved closer. The cart wheels moved with slow resistance but silently. "Clomp! Clomp!", the horse trotted forth, forehead tassel bouncing left and right.
The driver called for halt, reins and whip at the ready. The horse jerked to a stop, leaning back against the pressure of the cart and it's load. The driver handed to reins to the small passenger and, taking his prod, leaves the cart.
The driver stirs, thrusts, explores countless mementos, immune to the wafts. Ultimately the prize is claimed. Loaded into the cart, the driver, the passenger, the horse and the cart moved on to the next location of the hunt to repeat the process of living and claiming the unguarded treasures.

Wasted Time
I've wasted my time, drawing this breath.
I won't be the one that sings the songs and opens people eyes, inspiring them to their greatness.
I won't be the one that takes the nails to make a point.
I won't be the one to run into fire to try and save a life, knowing an end will fall upon me.
I won't be the one that teaches a different middle way.
I won't be the one that leads my people to unity, freedom and peace, to escape our conflicting nature.
I won't be the one that escapes this shell.
I won't be the one that extends the reach of mind and spirit, to touch the untouchable.
I won't be the one that will understand it all.
I will be the one that wasted so much time.
